KATHARINABERG – UNTERSTELL
Naturns » Neurateis » Katharinaberg » Unterstell » Naturns
Take the public bus or other means of transport from Naturns to Neurateis in the Schnalstal Valley (inn, 960 m; approx. 8 km from Naturns). Now follow the signs towards “Katharinaberg” over the sparsely wooded steep slopes for around ¾ hour (1245 m; it is also possible to drive here by car); next follow the signposts for the "Meraner Hoehenweg” (Meran High Altitude Trail) through meadows and forest up to trail no. 24 (Meran High Altitude Trail); follow this trail, which is now almost flat, in a southerly direction to the Unterperfel farmstead, then continue to the Wandhof and Kopfronhof farms (1436 m, snack station; a good hour from Katharinaberg); now continue along trail no. 24 following the “Meraner Hoehenweg" signs first of all up to the Waldhof (1505 m), then descending in places to the Inner-Unterstell farm (1470 m) and onwards to the fork in the path. Here turn right onto trail no. 24A to the Patleidhof and, following the signs for trail no. 10, down to Hof Unterstell (1282 m; snack station; from Kopfronhof 1 ½ hours). Finally, from there take the cable car back down to Naturns (526 m).
