Take the bus to the Hochmuth cable car valley station. Take the cable car up the mountain to the Hochmuth (inn). Then follow the steep uphill track to Steinegg (inn, 1420 m). Continue left on trail no. 24 (Hans Frieden Weg) on the broad but exposed hiking track to the Leiter Alp (inn, 1522 m). Initially continue along trail no. 24. At the junction continue steeply to the right along trail no. 25. This leads into a narrow grassy valley and winds steeply uphill to the Taufenscharte (2230 m). Next take trail no. 25 downhill on the north side until this trail meets the “Jaegersteig” then continue along this moderately steep trail (22) to the right. The trail leads down the northern slope below the Mutspitze to the Mutkopf (inn, 1684 m). Continue along trail no. 22 to Hochmuth (inn, 1350 m). From here take the cable car back to Dorf Tirol.
